Two killed, 1 hurt in Pakur as vehicle hits motorbike

Dumka: Two men were killed, and another man was critically injured when their motorbike was hit by a vehicle on the Sahibganj–Govindpur Highway in Pakur district late on Monday.The deceased were identified as Wakil Marandi and Police Hansda, residents of Phulpahari village in Littipara. Sangram Hansda, who was also on the bike, sustained injuries. He was undergoing treatment at Pakur sadar hospital and was stable on Tuesday, the police said.Police said the incident took place near Dhundapahari bridge around 9 pm. The trio were returning to their homes from a weekly haat (market) in Littipara when their motorbike was hit by an unidentified vehicle. Wakil and Police, aged around 24 years, were killed on the spot. Their bodies were sent for post-mortem examination on Tuesday."A case against unknown vehicle has been instituted. Investigation is underway," Vinay Kumar, the officer-in-charge of Littipara police station, said.
